But to call every move the Cubs make that we dont' like and doesn't work out a massive fuckup basically makes the term "massive fuckup" meaningless.

Exactly...there seems to be an absolute desire to lose our collective minds over the unorthodox or inconsequential.

Ok, then don't bother reading between the lines, read the actual lines:

Hendry on Zambrano

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->"It's not much of a secret the last year or year and a half, that he's not throwing as hard as a starter as he used to," general manager Jim Hendry said. "And we thought short-term, that would pick up his velocity and when he did go back to the rotation, he'd have a build-up in that velocity and some confidence in it."<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

or this:

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->"We're going to stretch him out to get back in the rotation and we'll see exactly when he's ready," Piniella said. "We took a chance that we needed to take. We thought his velocity would increase, and it hasn't.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

It doesn't take a mind reader to infer the Cubs thought there was something wrong with Zambrano, and that putting him in the pen may help fix it.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

You know, had he said that before he made the move, I would have bought it. But he's saying after and therefore it smells like poopy.

Zambrano in all likelihood is going to have to pitch in 5 days, as it sounds like Gorz may have been hurt tonight. My guess is that they are pitching him to get him ready.

They don't have to rush him, at least not for Gorzelanny's next start. With the off day on Monday, they could push him back or skip a start.

It just doesn't fit what they said they were going to do. They said they were moving him to long relief in order to stretch him out to get him back to the rotation in short order. Instead, they've pitched him in short relief in the 2 games since they announced that.

I don't think Lou has a fucking clue what he's going to do with Zambrano. Our rotation is quite good and Z doesn't fit. I think we need to make a trade to get Z in the rotation.

That's been the speculation all week from the media. Gorzelanny is the prime candidate for a trade, provided that this minor injury doesn't cause him to miss much time. Last night the reports were that Z could start against the Cards next week. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
