Yep. Being picked off 2nd? Possibly. Being picked off 3rd? Definitely. But first? Not really. It's an aggressive mistake. Not mental.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

to KBs point though, getting picked off first because you're not "in the game" is a mental mistake. I haven't seen the play but the way that article describes it it sounds like that's what happened.

A mental mistake would be creating huge hypotheticals to prove a half point.
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

Wow, talk about nitpicky. Mental mistake or not, getting picked off of first is a boneheaded play. I think that was the point. And since the other three miscues were mental mistakes, I don't have a problem lumping a pick off in there with the others. I think we all get the point of the paragraph right? Do we really need pick everything apart?

Yes. You're insane. You should be locked away from society for thinking that. You're scaring the children.

Mental mistake or bonehead play? Great taste or less filling? Pimple or boil?

Oh.

Sorry to disappoint, but it's far more harmless than one may think.

Yeah, it's not really crazy inappropriate at all, just as saying being picked off is a bone headed play wasn't crazy wrong at all
