Fan tasered at Phillies game
#76
Like someone mentioned before, how did the police/security know that this kid was a harmless knucklehead? They couldn't possibly know what his motives were. We've seen what can happen when fans rush the field. Tase his fucking ass until he shits and pisses his pants.

The field is full of multi-million dollar athletes. I'm sure the owners of the teams involved appreciate the cops protecting their investment.

If the cop oversteps...you deal with it, but...I prefer a system that assumes the best of its protectors and citizens.

If the kid decides that he was wronged...if public scrutiny determines that the cop was out of line...there is recourse.

Sorry Butch, but this argument doesn't cut it. How do any law enforcement officers EVER know ANYONE they pull over/approach/chase down is a harmless knucklehead? My friend's dad was a cop in Chicago, and he pulled a guy over for a broken taillight. The dipshit behind the wheel proceeded to gun down and kill both my friend's dad and his partner. Now, because this outcome is POSSIBLE (just as the Gamboa outcome is possible), you don't really think a cop should be able to taze every person he pulls over for any infraction, do you?

You're right. A discussion board is hardly the place for that sort of thing.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->PHILADELPHIA -- A fan has run onto the field at Citizens Bank Park during a baseball game in Philadelphia, one night after a teenager was Tasered in the outfield.

Security did not use a Taser to apprehend the man on Tuesday night. He gave himself up without incident.

The Philadelphia Phillies were leading St. Louis 1-0 in the top of the ninth inning when a guy hopped over the fence in left field and ran along the warning track waving his arms. The sellout crowd booed and he was soon captured.

In Monday night's game, a police officer chased a 17-year-old boy for about 30 seconds before the stun gun probe hit the teenager.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Can you believe another fan would do this a day after the biggest sports story of the day was a fan runs across the field?

Wow a true shock

Unless it's Chicago cops. And I ain't kidding.
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

They should have sodomized him with a baseball bat right on home plate.

Yep. The deterrent theory isn't a very good one.

Perhaps the taser wasn't a strong enough deterrent.

I believe tom had a few good suggestions in this thread...

Alternatively, they could make that kid deconstruct that "Bub Bubs" video.

No way. Cruel and unusual punishment is completely uncalled for.

You guys are missing the point, what I want to know is if you taze your own sack, do you last longer?
Fat Bastard is an immensely obese, hardly able to walk (weighing a metric ton) gardener and henchman hailing from Scotland. His extreme size endows Fat Bastard with super-human strength as exhibited by his prowess in the Sumo ring from Goldmember. This makes him a formidable enemy for Austin Powers. Fat Bastard is noted for his foul temper, his frequent flatulence, his vulgar and revolting bad manners and his unusual eating habits, which include taste for Human infants (which he calls "the other other white meat") or anything that looks like a baby, e.g. small people. Fat Bastard has been a regular at Cub games since the early 80's when he tried several times (unsuccessfully) to eat the visiting San Diego Chicken.
