If this happened to another country, the ref's life would be in jeopardy.

Never seen the US play that good in the second half. I'm just in a daze after the goal was disallowed. We did get fucked, Andy.

What a mix of emotions the last couple hours. Another terrible start, a lot of awful play in the first half. But the last 55 minutes of the game, outside of the counter attack, was some of the best soccer I've seen this team play. It's a shame these guys got robbed by that dreadful call. Just like one of the ESPN guys said, there could have been penalties called on three different Slovenians with Bradley and Jozy getting bear hugged and Boca getting thrown down by the neck, yet somehow he calls a phantom foul on the USA. The ref had a terrible time the whole game, and he capped it off with one of the worst calls I've seen.

As for Wednesday, the more I think about it the better I feel. A win over Algeria most likely gets us through, and a 2-goal win guarantees advancement. Gonna be interesting to see what Bradley does with the squad for that game. Unless Findley gets his yellow overturned (another brutal call), he's out (although I don't mind not seeing him play anyway). I'd like to see Dempsey move up and one of Holden or Feilhaber go out to the wing. I'd imagine Torres will be out of the lineup with his mostly ugly performance today unfortunately. It might be Edu in the middle, even though I thought he was terrible in the second half, or it could be back to Clark (bleh). All that matters though is that the guys come out and fight like they did in the second half and it should be on to the round of 16.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

Amen. Now if England can beat Slovenia and the US get a win against Algeria we should be alright.

The keeper was obviously expecting Donovan to center it, because his hands would have at least been up otherwise. Though Donovan did crack that ball.

The phantom foul is going to eat at me for a while. If that had happened to England, I can only imagine the outrage.

Americans definitely got screwed. If what was going on could be deemed a foul, then no goals would ever be scored on corner kicks. Utter crap. Can't say I'm sad for the Germans, never liked the German national team since beating Argentina in '90. England was shit. I knew they would flop, no offense London...but that seems to be their lot in life as far as the WC goes. Always so much hype undelivered.
