<div>Almora has been hitting well as of late.  Looks like he went through the struggles this FO likes and may have overcome them.

Speaking of Kyler...what ever happened to him?
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

Kris Bryant actually got a hit that stayed in the ballpark.

Have I told anyone lately that I love you...Kyle Schwarber.

Check it out as I hilariously fail at Cubs blogging.

Javy 3-4 so far in the second game.

I'm liking Alcantara more and more with each day. He seems to be having his best year since signing as a free agent in '08. In the double header he had three more hits (2 doubles and a HR). He's now hitting .441 over the past 10 games, and is .293 on the year.

However, like most Cubs prospects, he does K more than I'm comfortable with...especially for being a top-of-the-order type of player.

I just want to drink beer and play atari

For the first time in his pro career, Schwarber failed to get a hit in a game.

He did get 2 walks though...

He's not a top of the order hitter.  He does not, nor will he ever walk enough to have the high OBP needed.  He should be a fantastic CF that slots into the 7-8 slot very nicely

He could develop into a Kenny Lofton type, which I would gladly take as a #2 type or #7/8 as a worst case scenario. His walk rate was solid in 2013 and has been around 10% since May. Hopefully he keeps it up.

He just jacked a three-run homer (his 10th) as part of a 4-6 night with 3 runs and 4 RBIs. As of right now, he's hitting .301.
