Yep. Armed guards and dogs. Pretty neat stuff. It doesn't help me stop people from tunneling into my water pipes though.

I'm going to have check it out again. Seems like a lot has been added to it. It was already fun as hell.

Reinstalled the game with the new updates. A lot has changed over the last year or so in it. Actually had to redo the tutorial to remember how to play, and what the new stuff is.

Definitely. Dropped like 4 hours into it today.
The last time I played it, the security cameras and CCTV monitors weren't completed yet. No armory, no dogs, no armed guards, no education, and many other things. It was a fun, but simple game.
There is depth to it now, and it's awesome.

I don't recall any of you owning a Wii U, but Nintendo's first shooter - Splatoon - came out yesterday, and it's quite awesome. Hoping DLC brings in some extra content, but it throws the shooter genre for quite a loop.

Played the beta a few times. My brother is really into it so I'll probably end up getting it soon. Naked, maybe we can play together sometime. My battle tag is jeffy777 #1244 if you (or anyone else) wants to add me on bnet. I play quite a bit of Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm as well.

I played the beta and I had no fucking idea what I was doing. I just shot at anything that moved.

That's pretty much where I'm at as well. I did figure out the payload objective eventually, but I suck at all but the most basic of characters.
The game does seem really polished though and I think I'll like it once I figure everything out.

It's really not that complicated at all (as far as simply "playing" it). A lot of people are saying this is the shooter for everyone. It's easy to play, tough to master. As far as easier characters go, I'd say Soldier 76 if you like being a damage dealer/assault character. Defense: Bastion, and he is waaaaay overpowered. Tank: Roadhog is very straightforward. Just hook them, pop them with the shotty in the face....it'll one shot many characters. Support: Mercy, you got a healing ray (alternate mode is damage buff) and just fly around healing folks (though being a GOOD support is crucial in this game).
It's really well balanced, and well polished. Early on it will be rough, in the sense that you are still learning the maps, learning how to counter other characters, etc etc. I played a lot of matches early on in Training against the AI. It's a GREAT way to learn the maps/modes/characters you have never played.
Jeffy I sent you a request, mine is nakedman1664#1370 if anyone else plays and wants to add.
Edit: also pay attention to the voice queues in the game. Like when McRee says "It's higggggggh noon" you know he's about to pop his ultimate, or when you hear a "Behind you" that means there is someone right on your ass. Plus if you play with headphones, each character has a specific sound to their footsteps (and the volume of them is related to how far away from you they are)....so if I'm running around as a squishy whomever, and hear lets say Reinhardt footsteps I know to back off the other way.

Right on, friend added, and thanks for all the tips. I think one of the things that makes it seem more complicated is just having all the extra abilities from the get-go. My favorite FPS games have generally been those with more of the old school approach, without too many bells and whistles (which is one of the reasons why the newer COD titles don't appeal to me nearly as much as the older offerings). I do however think it's cool that Blizzard is incorporating MOBA aspects into Overwatch, as I really have been enjoying Heroes of the Storm over the last year or so as my first MOBA experience, which makes the transition to Overwatch easier as well. I just need to take the time to learn all the different characters, so your advice is definitely appreciated.

No worries man. Also, Bastion is way OP and crowding the game and play of the game right now but he is easily counterable. A good shot from Widowmaker will take him out, or you can easily sneak behind him with Reaper or Tracer.

My kids have been playing this quite a bit lately. I tried it, and was awesomely bad at it.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

At least you tried. I still hop on every once in a while. It really is a great game.
