There are only so many Descalso's available on the open market.

So if the bench coach candidates under consideration are accurate, I'd be fine with either John Farrell or Fredi Gonzalez. Not so much on Riggleman.

Yeah, don’t particularly want Riggleman.  Farrell seems like a good fit.

Will Farrell?

Any interest in Marte for CF for us next year? He always seems to bat well at Wrigley.

Or Shogo Akiyama from Japan?

Lead off seems to be a priority

Depends on what the Pirates want in return. I would take him over the Japanese fellow. They're the same age, and probably project to have similar production, but you can never be sure with international signings.

I'd like Marte, seems like it'll be tough to get him with the same division stuff.

Marte could be provide a good OF option. Doubt it will happen but interested in hearing what Pirates get for him

Buss and Butterfield are leaving to join Maddon in Anaheim, according to Levine.

Well Shogo just broke his foot so he could be a Nogo.

Martes option was picked up yesterday by the Pirates and more than likely will be traded in a rebuilding Pirates side.

Castellanos and Cubs have mutual interest. Love to have him back but with the Ricketts channeling Tribune owners, the cost to bring him back doesnt make sense when there is obvious pressing needs elsewhere.

I love Castellanos, but unless you trade Schwarbs or keep Heyward in CF (no thanks), he's unnecessary for this team.

Yeah, i like him but prefer to see some other moves tbh.

Agree that Castellanos, Schwarber, Heyward outfield doesn’t work but I’m not expect Schwarber and Heyward to both be on 2020 squad.

If Schwarber is traded, Nick the Big Stick should remain on Cubs roster for 2020 - assuming he’s not signing >$100 MM contract.

Unless we're getting a great package for Schwarbs to plug other roster holes (his value just isn't that high), don't see the FO paying a LF ~$20mm/per season for a small upgrade there.
