Doubt if Ross move will upset anyone.
Unfortunately for a team that’s supposedly needs a shake up, Ross doesn’t seem like the right choice.
Most likely saves significant cash which hopefully will be used on roster.

I find it hard to believe that Espada would cost significantly more.

I get the sense this move was done particularly for this group of players. I don't know why, but I think that Theo and Jed maybe would have preferred Espada, but recognized that this group will respond better to Ross. Just my bullshit opinion

If that is the case, then I hope he only signs a 2-year deal, as that will be the end of the line for this core group and likely the FO as well.

Yeah, I don't think there was any chance they were going to hire a big name. Definitely fine with that. I would take Ross over Girardi or the other "seasoned" names that were floated.

From my own experience--outside of baseball, of course--it can be a bit of a rough transition going from a colleague to a supervisor role, even if "Grandpa" had been granted a certain authority based on age and experience. This could get tricky.

I see no shot of this happening.

Girardi definitely feels like a current Phillies move.

Seems like it's designed to push Klentak out the door.
