False alarm, sounds like our old friend Paul is full of dog shit as usual.

Was going to say, I don't see anything on Twitter. Sully probably stopped at the Rise dispensary for some inspiration on his way to the crosstown game.

Jake Arrieta has been released on unconditional waivers

Not exactly a storybook ending, but this needed to be done. Ryan also DFA'd and Willson to the IL.

Just saw this in an article about Jake getting the boot:

Quote:It also came hours after Arrieta chided a reporter on a postgame video news conference for wearing a facemask in the Wrigley Field press box.

“I’d love you to take your mask off. I don’t think anybody’s around you,” Arrieta said in response to a question about mentoring young pitchers.

Odd and inappropriate as that request might have been, his mound performance was even worse.
I mean, who is asking people to take off their masks? Maybe he couldn't hear the reporter?  Even then, wtf dude. "Jake, I'd love you to pitch much better than this horseshit you've trotted out this season, and also stop trying to claim you weren't shellacked but rather every hit magically found a hole."

Yeah, fuck that guy. Good riddance.

One dick can poke an eye out. A hundred dicks can move mountains.

Awfully rough being a Cub fan currently

Cubs were 42-33 when they threw the no hitter against the Dodgers on 24 June. Today, theyre sitting at 52-65. Thats a 10-32 run - thats worst team in baseball territory. Extrapolate that over a season and thats 39-123 team. The Cubs current roster could match or come in bellow that 24% win rate for remainder of this season - easily.

Damn, its tough to be a Cubs fan

Guess having the worst homestand since 1943 doesnt brighten the day

I honestly don't care about this season, but I swear I'll go full blown meatball this offseason if the Rickettses don't spend significant money to improve the team. There's only $43 in guaranteed salary obligations for 2022, so they can shove their biblical losses right up their MAGA asses.

This is exactly where I'm at, I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt right now..the determining factor will be what they do this offseason.

Ivy, we all know your views on this no need to repeat for the millionth time.

Theres losing and then theres being fucking embarrassed.

Cub fans realized that with the Darvish trade and lack of significant free agent signings, 2021 was not going to be their year but theres losing games and not being remotely competitive.

The roster and results of this home stand should be seen as an embarrassment

One of the largest market teams with one of strongest revenue bases in MLB should not be in this position. Cubs were outscored 58-18 over the 7 games

Lack of signings!  Lack of trades!  Big market team!  I knew you had yet another in you.
