2021 Team
The Kimbrel and Javy deals look ok, but I don't know shit about any of these guys really. But I now feel like the white sox are going to win the WS and that sucks. And if not them, then the Dodgers which also sucks.

Honest question: do you want the Cubs to sign Rizzo to a long-term contract in the off-season?

The White Sox won't get past Houston or Tampa. The Dodgers, on the other hand . . .

Also not a team I want to see win. (Houston)  The white sox pen is frightening now, which always seems to matter in the playoffs. I think of all the teams now with legit shots I'm pulling for the Padres or Giants, which is a weird place to be.  Or Tampa I guess.

Maybe he isn't terrible, but seems like a future 5th starter given his lack of velocity. Canario might have additional upside if he fills out and play a corner OF spot. Maybe "trash" was too negative, but still seems like a disappointing haul.

Sox have been pretty so-so as of late.  Giolito and Rodon have had issues...not sure they can go all the way.

Depends on the contract. Supposedly he turned down 5 yr and $70 MM offer at start of season. Rumor was he was looking for $100 MM deal. Given his back and slowing bat this season the 5/$70 deal looks about right but could imagine a front loaded 3 year deal to keep the face of the org at Wrigley.

Maybe he's in the Hendricks mold? Wonder how he is in limiting exit velocity.

Not a complete soft-tosser, but still nothing to brag about. Is there even any exit velo data being tracked in MiLB? No idea, but that's a good question. He's already 24 in AA, so hopefully he can continue to develop once he reaches Iowa.

So, okay, there's a lot of context and nuance to consider, plus, you know, 29 other teams. As much as it sucks to admit it, Rizzo's continued decline will likely mean that the fans of whatever team he signs with will come to give him the Heyward treatment long before the contact is up.

Today sucks ass for Cubs fans, and the the Ricketts are horrible people who need to be eaten by wolves. But the collapse of Hayward, Rizzo, and Happ (for starters) have made this trade deadline easier to understand.

Sad question - can Cubs bring back Sogard now that he’s been DFA and passed through waivers? They’re already paying his salary for year

I'd rather they pay him to stay away.

I have no immediate plans to watch baseball. I have no idea when that might change,

I really hate the Ricketts family. Lying fuckers.

Cubs are already paying him and budget has to be limited - Need to keep the powder dry for future free agent signings, ha - so if they can, guessing that the Cubs would want him back
