So how does the Cubs offense compare this year to last year within the NL

Cubs are 6th runs scored so far in 2010 compared to 10th in 2009
Cubs are 5th in BA so far in 2010 compared to 12th in 2009
Cubs are 4th in OBP so far in 2010 compared to 10th in 2009
Cubs are 4th in SLG so far in 2010 compared to 8th in 2009
Cubs are 4th in OPS so far in 2010 compared to 10th in 2009

Basically, the Cubs offense has shown improvement so far this year and that's with Aramis and Lee shitting the bed.

I'm willing to bet that our median # for runs scored per game is about the same if not lower than last season. The offense has been wildly inconsistent, and the few blowouts that we've had so far only skew the numbers in our favor. Too many outliers, and I would wager that the median number is around 3-4 runs scored per ballgame, which blows.
