Obama-themed White Sox hats?
Damn, well severance is the only thing that has helped keep me sane over the past 3 months. Good luck to you, and hopefully you aren't on the list.

Good luck with things BT. I'll keep you in my prayers!

450? Holy crap! Dude...that's rough. How many people are in your firm?

Well, I made it through, but it was a brutal day. People I'd known for 8 years were let go. One guy, who made sure to call me every week I was out of the office recovering from my surgery last year, was let go. It was sad walking down the hall, watching people sobbing.

The 450 people let go were firm wide, and probably represented a little over 10 percent of the total workforce. The managing partner said that those would be the last layoffs, they are done, but if things continue this way for another 6 months or so, I could see this happening again.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

Holy crap. So sad to see all of this stuff going down. I have customers that are cutting business left and right along with several just totally closing up shop. I am starting to get a little worried about my job. Glad you made it through, BT.

Sorry to hear it, but glad you made it through, BT. The news sent a shockwave through many other firms, to say the least.

Thanks.

Yeah, through all of this, I discovered abovethlaw.com. It's a decent source of info (it's amazing to see our internal emails posted in their entirety, sometimes BEFORE I get them), but the commenters are absolutely brutal. You would think my firm was conducting a pre-school child sex ring, rather than layoffs, if you believe the vitriol coming from those commenters.

Yeah, ATL is my preferred stop for this kind of news. The commenters are douches.

It is pretty funny. Lou is like my dad...not too good with names, as Stevie Eyre can tell you.
I sat next to Ronnie WooWoo on the L during the '06 SOITOW weekend. He was in full uniform. Nice guy, I thought.

If I sat on the L next to him, I'd have to jump to my death. If the annoying woos didn't get me, the smell would. I've passed the guy on the street a few times and Pepe Lapew's got nothing on him.

I met him last year. He must have found a shower somewhere that day, because I didn't detect an odor at all... and he put an arm around me when we posed for a picture.
