Victor Martinez to have knee surgery. This has huge implications for the AL Central. I'm sure the Sox fans are feeling extra confident now, and this worries me.

Could this be one easy/stealth solution to goosing offense in MLB in the future? The league has at times made changes to balls such as modifying stitching that supposedly helped in 1987 and 1993, aside from PEDs, of course. We'll see if it works at the college level first.

The article says that the stitching change makes the balls akin to the balls they use in MLB already. Can the stitching be adapted that much more in the bigs?
