This doesn't make any sense. How in the world can no one, including the Cubs, do better than Marcus Semien, for a year of Shark, and the first round compensation they will get at the end of this year when he declines arbitration?

I don't whether to be happy because we obviously got a steal or pissed because spellcheck would be going to the chi sox for next to nothing. And I shudder at the thought that the moves might pay off for the Sox. I could not take another 2005.

Why not just send McKinney + that asshole we got from Atlanta + another minor leaguer back to the A's for Spellcheck? If Beane's giving him away, at least stop him from going to the ChiSox.
