He knows what generates clicks. Yeah, that's what i was thinking too.
Did Brett make Cerami disappear? He sucks pretty hard.

Interesting note from Sharma yesterday or the day before, Wesneski starting to look like a possible legit no 2 starter. We can dream.

Ohtani really is something special. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up after this season, for sure. The WBC was a blast to watch. Kind of stupid that Merrill Kelly (is he the D'Backs #4 starter?) was the starting pitcher for the final game in the tournament, but it was the offense that killed us in that game. Gotta give credit to team Japan, though -- their pitching was ridiculous. Everyone on that team throws gas and they all seem to have that same splitter, too. Looking forward to 2026!

Very much enjoyed the tourney as well. Not surprised that Ohtani got Trout, but man, Trout just missed on the fastballs. My guess is that if Betts doesn't hit into the double play and there's a runner or runners on base, the outcome may have been different. Once it was bases empty and 2 outs I assume Trout was more in HR/all or nothing mode than he may have otherwise been.

Yeah, offense didnt really come through, but the lineup was potent and team USA didnt really have our elite pitchers on the roster. Would be good to see them get the top guys next go around.

Seemed like the Turner, the Cardinals, and Trout powered the US. Trout seemed feast or famine but didn't realize that he had significantly more Ks than RBIs
Didn't realize that Tim Anderson had as many RBIs as each of the Cardinal twins.
Schwarbs had a nice showing but damn that pop up to center was weak in the final.
Don't believe that you'll get better starting pitching on the US team in the future. Pitchers - and management of pitching - seems more concerned with early season use / abuse than position players.
Guessing that Met managements and some fans aren't clamoring for their players to return to WBC anytime soon

Edwin Diaz got hurt in a celebration; total freak injury. I'm sure some people are blaming the WBC, but rational people will realize that this could've happened during a spring training game or washing his dog or walking down the stairs in his home.
Also, they can limit pitch counts the same way they do in Spring Training. I believe pitchers couldn't throw more than 80 pitches in the WBC, but also, if someone like Verlander (or whoever) wanted to play, he could insist on a 50 pitch maximum or something. This really shouldn't be a determining factor, IMO. Unless pitches thrown in Spring Training are less strenuous (I suppose you can make the case that you're not trying to get guys out so much in Spring Training as you are just getting loose and working on pitches), then who cares? Guys are still throwing all of their pitches in the spring, either way, at their normal velo.
Side note: I don't know how anyone is expected to hit Devin Williams's changeup. That is one of the nastiest pitches I've seen in a while.

Yeah, DeRosa made it pretty clear all the pitchers came with limitations from their teams, and it clearly handcuffed him. At one point in the final, or one of the later games, I can't recall, he didn't have anyone warming up with a pitcher on the mound who walked the bases loaded. But I agree, there's no reason some #1 starter types can't come and build up their innings there. Maybe it's that it's higher pressure innings or they can't work on things there, or it could be that they're not guaranteed to get x amount of pitches each game should they get hit and need to come out early... But then they could just finish in the bullpen. Anyway, hopefully at least a couple legit 1s or 2s join next time.

They’re only buying out one FA year, so it’s not much of an extension. That said, $35mil is very reasonable.
