Cub Game Comments
So who is a reasonable low-risk/expectation buy trade target? I expect just a token add or two just to rally the troops to a 3rd place finish.

Good question. Might be slim pickings if they don't do something soon.

Sorry about that, gentlemen.

Thank you

Expecting at least one veteran lefty for bullpen as a pick up at trading deadline and still won’t be shocked if Stroman gets moved but that move is not likely

That was too much to ask.

Given the pitcher and the lineup Ross put out there (plus how difficult it is to sweep a 4 game series on the road), I was expecting the loss. Still -- what an amazing run.

Now we've really gotta show up against the Reds.

Reds then followed by the Braves. Wouldn't shock me if we're sellers again by tomorrow afternoon if we don't handle the Reds tonight.

Why are people in favor of spending significant prospect capital on Bednar? I realize he’s lights out and under.l control through 27 but he’s a reliever and we know how that goes and a closer doesn’t take this team to a World Series. I’m not a prospect hoarder, but seems like a bad move.

Jed is in a tough spot. This team really isn't that good, hot streak notwithstanding. But you don't want to wave the white flag -- some momentum has been built and I'm sure that will help with attendance. But standing pat or buying could set the team back a little, longer term.

I don’t mind if they try and go for it, but spending a ton to acquire a big closer seems like a waste. I don’t want to give up the potential of an elite bat for a guy who could end up sucking next year and not really putting you over the top anyway.

PCA to Iowa.

I'm ok with adding pieces that help you now and in the future. We have a surplus of AAA outfielders collecting dust, especially now that PCA was promoted, so might as well trade one or two of them while they still have value.

Does Candelario excite anyone?
