Cub Game Comments
How are we gonna get swept by the Reds and then immediately be on the verge of sweeping the Rays? Can this team pick a personality and stick with it?

Did something happen to Steele? Why'd he get pulled early?

This one is on me for speaking way too soon. Sorry, guys.

Sometimes I forget how feeble this roster’s offense is. Then I’m hit upside the head repeatedly watching the squad get men on base and fail to score.

Yeah, could bitch about Steeler’s injury or Leiter giving up HRs but each of those events are part of baseball. Unfortunately, this roster doesn’t seem to score runs late in tight games.

It was great that Cubs were able to take 2 from the Rays. Bullpen held onto lead yesterday and Stroman was a stud Monday

This lineup, across the board, pisses down their legs when they come to the plate with the bases loaded. It's infuriating. All the pressure should be on the pitcher, but our hitters perform like they're terrified to be in that situation.

Hey, don’t know if I’ve ever heard of this Yu Darvish guy? He seems like he’s pretty good

Yeah but I’m sure those prospects we got for him are going to pan out.

Why do I think that any Cub opponent starter with an ERA >4.45 will likely hold the Cubs to < 2 runs for > 6 innings?

And I love being wrong

Im lazy to post anywhere else, but Elly De La Cruz is going to be a Cubs killer. I can just feel it.

Seems like De La Cruz - and Matt McLain - are going to be Cub and MLB killers for a long time

I still tune in for most games. At least until it starts getting embarrassing (like last night).

Sure would be nice if Bellinger returned soon so we can trade him for.....anything of value.

You mean you’re not counting salary relief and future payroll flexibility as critical foundations for Cubs rebuild?  Rather than watch late innings, I count the savings on the 2023 bullpen.  Made many games in May much more enjoyable

What do you guys think will happen with Stroman? He's been awfully fun to watch pitch this year (one of the only real reasons to tune in, honestly). Every team is looking for pitching help at the trade deadline, so I'm sure he would get a decent return...but, we'll also need arms in the rotation. Since he isn't a guy who relies on velocity, he'll probably age fairly well -- and he seems like he's a total gym rat/fitness nut.

If you're Jed, what do you do with Stroman?
