Great stat that Athletic pointed out for Thompson
This season, Thompson’s ERA with 1-2 days rest is 11.25 (4 innings in 5 games) but with 3 days + rest his ERA drops to 1.02 (17 1/3 inning in 9 games). Would like to know how that compares to rest of Cubs and MLB bullpen and how this stat matches up to his performance over last couple seasons. Liked Thompson’s composure and stuff previous seasons and liked him as a starter when he was healthy. His stuff looks terrible and velocity has been down since spring training. Guessing he may be dealing with an undiagnosed injury, but whatever the case may be, he shouldn't be taking up a roster spot.
