Cub Game Comments
Showing some life. Love it. Feels like every time I share positive thoughts about this team (and vice versa), I end up eating my words. I’ll shut up now.

God dammit.

Waiting until Memorial Day to make an official declaration, but this team is mediocre at best.

Oh. So that Bregman homer was your fault, Rok?

Seems like we're perpetually down 0-1 early...

Edit: holy shit, 14 straight games now.

Well, no longer worried about being down a run

There’s a distinct possibility that this team isn’t any good.

And where will the “veterans” of this roster play in August - post trading deadline?

Still see the squad as a 500 ball club. Other than gate and concession revenues, there’s little reason to expect that front office will hold on to veteran players rather than save payroll and grab lottery type prospects, again.

I've considered this possibility once or twice over the last couple of weeks.

If Bellinger can hold steady, he should be a good trade piece. Same with Stroman. Nobody will want Mancini or Hosmer, that's for certain.

Has anyone told Morel that he’s not required to hit HRs over 400 ft?

Thompson, really? This bullpen is trash.

Remember when you could count on the Cubs to find and retool a couple decent bullpen veterans to retread plus a closer to sell off at the trading deadline?

This loss may leave a mark. Yes, the Astros are good but Cubs didn’t seem competitive for first couple games then get walked off in series finale. That’s after the Twins throttled them in back-to-back games. Ouch.
