Could be worse I suppose like Perez or Casali.

Sigh.

Adding Tucker doesn’t improve the catching position over last year but he does improve the current roster now that Willson is a Cardinal.

Guessing that the front office is either planning to win a bunch of 3-1 and 2-1 games or doesn’t plan to win this season.

This feels like a transition year, still.

Yeah, I'd definitely love it if Cohen owned the Cubs.

Conforto to the Giants on a 2-year deal. Not sure how I feel about Mancini at 1B....

What the hell is going on with him?

I love how the baseball media, on the word of Boris, just assumed the Giants, who aren't far removed from winning 3 WS in 6 years, got buyer's remorse and chickened out of their deal, as opposed to having genuine concerns. Now they'll totally believe it because the Mets, who are poorly run and genuinely suck, and simply lucked into a drunk rich owner, have the same concerns? Give me a break.

I suppose the Hosmer signing was telegraphed years ago when the Padres were first trying to unload his dumb contract, but at this point I don’t really feel strongly about it one way or another.

This isn’t a signing a team with playoff aspirations makes. That’s my primary complaint with it. But whatever.

Hosmer should produce at an avg MLB level which improves the Cubs roster. Oh boy!

I think it's a fine signing, assuming they're not paying much more than league min. Not sure what the downside is, unless it ends up blocking Mervis. But I doubt it.

He should improve the quality of the Cubs roster at a bare minimum cost. The signing shouldn’t excite Cub fans nor upset them. It’s yeah ‘we’re having oatmeal for breakfast tomorrow, again’ - type signing.

Wtf is it with the fucking Bleacher Nation guys and whining about extensions like Devers? The guy wasn’t a fucking free agent and it’s out of the Cubs control so what’s the point?

Plus, an 11 year deal at 320 or whatever it is probably wasn't ever happening for us anyway, if the lack of an offer for Correa is any indication.
