Does Pirates management care at all about winning?

Scott Podsenik signed by the Royals.

1 year deal $1.75 MM with a club option for second year for $2.0 MM

Was worried that Hendry would overpay Scotty Pods to be their 4th or 5th or 6th outfielder.

The Royals are such a pathetic franchise.

Didn't they also just get Brian Anderson? That should be a competition to watch...

I will lose it if Jose Valverde signs with the Cards. He's the best pitcher on the planet against us. Put him in that uniform and we'll never make contact.

According to MLB Trade Rumors, the Cardinals are not actively involved on Valverde.

There are few active players I hate more than Valverde.

From the article:

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec--><b>Cunningham, a sixth round draft pick by the Chicago White Sox in 2005, has been traded three times since 2007. He's a .211 hitter in 133 major league at-bats with Oakland</b>, but hit .302 with a .479 slugging percentage for the A's Triple-A Sacramento farm club last season.

Cunningham recently underwent surgery for a sports hernia, but the injury is not considered serious. Cunningham told ESPN.com that he's scheduled to undergo a physical exam Saturday in conjunction with the trade.

<b>"I'm really excited,'' Cunningham said. "I've always told my wife that San Diego is the place where I want to finish my career.'</b>'<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Sounds to me that someone's a negative Nelly.

He's just being realistic. He's on a pace to finish his career by July.
