MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
I think that was a good trade. Sanchez is exactly the type of player they shouldn't resign. As a small market team they need to build from within. A $7M middle of the road 2B is going to help them at all. Signing guys like LaRoche and Wilson in the past is exactly why the Pirates haven't had a winning season since in 18 years.

The Nats might be turning the Brewers into sellers, or at least keeping them from a Washburn acquisition. Already taken 2 in this series in Milwaukee, up 4-0 in the 2nd tonight. They'd be 5 back with a loss and 3 games under .500. Manny Parra is back to sucking, walked 5 and allowed 4 earned in 2 innings so far.

Washburn is overrated anyway. He's sucked for a few years now, and one really good half season doesn't change that in my mind.

That's how I feel. He'd be their #2, but that's not saying much. Seattle wisely is going to ask for a lot because of this year, but in all reality he's a #4. I'd be just fine with the Brewers giving up another good prospect or two for him.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->According to the New York Times, David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003.
The now-infamous 2003 list of positive tests is slowly trickling out. It's not a huge surprise that Manny tested positive, but Ortiz was not mentioned in the Mitchell Report and has not been linked to performance-enhancers until now. In fact, he told reporters this winter that he felt convicted steroid users should be banned for an entire year. "So what would I do? I won't use it, and I'm pretty sure that everybody is on the same page," the slugger said back in February.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Ed Price of Fanhouse is reporting that the Dodgers have acquired George Sherrill from the Orioles.
If true, Sherrill would work as a setup man in front of closer Jonathan Broxton. Sherrill has a 2.40 ERA, 20 saves and a 39/13 K/BB ratio in 41 1/3 innings this season.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

And the Cubs just knocked Russ Ortiz off of the Astros. Released him after the game.

Nah, just trade him to the dumb guy that's a week late to find out fantasy news. For instance, if you were in my league, it'd be me.
