No. They aggressively pursue players that they want, even if they have good players that could fill that role already on the roster. They have a completely different mindset. Plus, the two championships are kinda cool...

The Cubs have never traded for a significant upgrade at the trade deadline, they've never signed top FAs, they've never developed in-house pitching, and most certainly have never fleeced the Pirates in a trade.
