MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
Marquis just threw a CG at San Fran. He's now 4-1 with a 3.31 ERA.

I always thought we could have gotten more for Marquis. Coors Field will catch up with him though just wait a few more starts.

One would think, but he's dominated there in his career: 5-0, 2.72 ERA.

But he is Marquis, he will suck sooner or later. It has to happen and it will.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Oliver Perez was pulled in the third inning Saturday after allowing five hits, four earned runs and six walks to the Phillies.
There's something seriously wrong with Ollie. He's now working with a 9.97 ERA and a 20/21 K/BB ratio in just over 20 innings. Perez has been rocked in three straight starts, and it'd be hard to justify running him out there again. The Mets may need to consider their options.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Seems like guys are going for far cheaper now than they were at the start of the off-season.

A couple months ago we heard Abreu wanted 3/45, and now he has an offer for 1/8? Wow.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
And what's interesting is the pitchers are still going for normal price or close to it. I can't imagine Oliver Perez getting much more than 12 million bucks in other years for example.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Rotoworld disagrees

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->A fine deal for the Mets. In last year's market, Perez would have been in line for a five-year contract, possibly worth $70 million.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
If that deal had happened, we might be looking at a worse deal than the Silva and Zito ones.

A's-M's is NUTS. A's got 3 in the top half of the 13th, M's just matched it. Gio Gonzalez has thrown 95 pitches out of the pen for the A's.

And Clappiday, my one fantasy rep in the game, is 0-7. What an asshole.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

This week, Joe Robbie Stadium Pro Player Park Pro Player Stadium Dolphin Stadium is going to be renamed again. The Marlins will now be playing at LandShark Stadium.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

I watched a little sunday night baseball. Andruw Jones is doing pretty good. I thought he wasn't going to make the team, but due to injuries, he is starting.
I like you guys a lot.

KB... I am now a fan of Neyer, as he linked a Denise Richards/Take Me Out To The Ballgame post I did. Odd post to consider linking, especially with the "7th inning stretch in the pants of males" comment I made.

Sounds about right. The Padres have instructed him to "take a step back" in his rehab, and it's not clear when he'll begin throwing again.
