Albert sure didn't pick a very good time to bail on us. Perhaps he wakes up after another frustrating loss.

You know, comments like this remind me how unreal and pressure filled it must be to be Albert Pujols. It's part of the deal, I definitely get that, but man oh man, he gets called out and said to have "bailed" on the team on a day when he drove in a run, reached base twice, made a great read on a ball to go first to third, and scores a run and had an on base percentage of .400. This all just makes his exploits even more amazing to me...he also takes it all in stride, and from most accounts, is a great person as well as player. Amazing I tell you. It is my mission to never take one second of Albert Pujols for granted in all the years of my fandom.

Really, could they suck Pujols's dick more?

I hear ya, but to give him his due, that fucker can hit. We're pitching him pretty well.

Holy Toledo, I didn't realize he was throwing that well. Sure would like it if the Royals could surprise everyone, and win that division.

There's people out there that picked them to win the division.

QUOTE The St. Louis Cardinals made a move today to fortify their bullpen depth by acquiring right-handed reliever Blaine Boyer from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for Memphis (AAA) outfielder Brian Barton.

Boyer, 27, appeared in a career-high 76 games for the Braves in 2008, ranking 9th among National League pitchers. He also set career highs for innings pitched (72.0) and strikeouts (67) and was among Braves' leaders in Holds with 14.

I wonder how many times two BB's have been traded for each other.

Bobby Bonds and Bert Blyleven almost were teammates; they played for Cleveland about 2 years apart.

Now that the Pirates have swept the Marlins (who have over half of their wins against the Nationals), will baseball media stop blowing their wad over them?

Blowing their wad over who? The Marlins or the Pirates?

Phil Rogers and Kap each said Zambrano wouldn't be in their All-City rotation. Give me a fucking break. The guy's had an ERA under 4 for 7 straight years, and had at least 13 wins as well as a winning record for 6 straight years.

QUOTE Kyle Lohse will have an MRI taken on his right knee Thursday night, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Uh-oh. The pitcher heard a pop in his knee when running to cover first base on a slow grounder, but had to stop quickly when Albert Pujols bobbled the ball. Lohse faced five more batters to finish the fifth inning and qualify for the win, his third of the season. Stay tuned.

So outta: Zambrano, Dempster, Harden, Lilly, Marshall, Buerhle, Danks, Floyd, Colon, and Contreras . . . Z doesn't make the top 5? That's quite possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Shit, I think the Cubs top 4 make it and Buerhle and Danks fight it out for the last spot. It's 100% obvious that Zambrano is in the upper 1/2 of those listed.

They were debating whether or not Danks was the best starting pitcher in Chicago. Ridiculous.

Danks can barely pitch 6 innings.

I'd take Danks in our rotation, no doubt, but he's no ace, he's a 3.
