MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
I've never had a problem with Cardinal fans. Of course, I've never met a Cardinal fan. It's just Brewers and Twins country up here.

It really was. I was listening to the Cards broadcast on my iPhone on the train (did I mention how awesome the MLB At Bat app is?) before the Cubs game started. Listening to the Cards radio guy talk about the heat Motte was throwing, plus the fans who got all fired up when Craig Wilson got 2 strikes on him...and then just silence. Oh, man. That was pure awesomeness.

Just think if that was the Cubs. Opening day at home, start the inning with a 3 run lead, bases loaded, 2 out, 0-2 count and then boom. We'd be fucking killing ourselves.

Yeah. Now I feel kind of bad about it. You just put me in their shoes.

You? Empathetic?
Well, just in case you're serious, let me give you some memories: Pujols sushing the Wrigley crowd, LaRussa prattling on about his own genius, the 82-win Cardinals hoisting the World Series trophy a scant 2 and a half years ago...now how do you feel about that Motte meltdown?

Farnsworth just gave up a 3-run jack to Thome to give the Sox a 4-2 lead in the 8th. Meche pitched a gem.

Yeah, a brutal Hawk game. I still can't believe the Royals gave Farnsworth that contract.

Wow. What a way to make an entrance.

Does he still do his moronic home run call? Does Stone chime in? If so, I've lost the last shred of respect I had for him.

Stone's as awesome as he ever was, and Hawk's as big of a douche as he ever was. Hawk does all of his crap, Stoney acts like Stoney: best baseball analysis and plenty of sarcasm. He and Hawk are never on the same page. It's quite funny to watch actually, except for when the White Sox do something good.

I love the fact that Suppan is the #1 for Brewers. 3-0 after 1 inn against the powerhouse Giants.

When Thome hit that HR, I thought I heard Stone chime in on the "yyyes". I watched the last 2 inning and it made me sick to my stomach. I cannot believe Stone will actually root for that team of slimeballs. At some point, Stone, thinking it's 80's night, will be commetning on the unusually large number of mullets in the stands. What a terrible outing by Farns.

Yeah... well Gallardo's really the #1, I think they just wanted to go with the veteran Suppan on opening day. He's been declining big time each of the last few years though, giving up a shitload more homers. I think he has an ERA over 5 this year.

I agree. It's obvious their staff will look quite a bit different. He did just get an rbi double.

2 things.

1. I didn't hear him say anything on that home run. Then again it would've been nearly impossible to hear anything over Hawk's screaming on that.

2. He played 3 years with the Cubs, 3 years with the White Sox. And he's also getting paid to root for the team, just like Brenly is with us.

Suppan gets their first hit though against Lincecum, with 2 outs, and they score 2 runs in the inning. 3-2 Giants in the 2nd.
