A move to the Rockies gives him the possibility for a fresh start in a ballpark that is perfectly suited for someone with his gap power. Still, he won't be any kind of lock to make the team. In other words, Hendry's going to wind up paying too much for a guy that we wouldn't have needed had we not dealt DeRosa for a couple of scrubs to clear salary for a Peavy deal that's never going to happen?

I think Clapp is talking about the fact that we already have Harden who is a china doll himself. Why would we want to have 2 pitchers who will miss 10-15 starts a piece?
