The Red Sox/Yankees game is BONKERS.

What transpired?

The Red Sox were winning 8-0 in the 5th, and 8-1 in the 6th, only to see the Yankees score 7 in the 7th and 7 in the 8th. The Red Sox are a half game better than the Cubs right now. It's not pretty.

Bobby V can rest easy now. Byrd will save them.

Brewer's Narveson to undergo shoulder surgery for torn rotator cuff will miss season. He's the Brewers No. 5 starter who has average production as a #5 - mid 4's ERA with 28 starts the last couple of years. Was surprised to see his record 26-18. Guess that's what happens when you play for a team that can score runs.

Hasn't he sucked in the minors?
Reply
Yeah I think they are definitely rushing him.

.724 OPS last year in AA, .708 OPS this year in AAA.

He is only 19, pretty stupid to bring him up before he has even had success in AA or AAA.
Reply
He's going to suck something fierce. Why do they need him? Don't they have the best record in the NL?

I know they're in first in the East. It makes no sense...especially since they are going to send him back down as soon as Zimmerman gets back.

Abreu released, Trout up as well

Humber's perfect game gave them a false sense of hope. It's been nothing but crushing defeats and awkward silences from Hawk ever since.

Well after that game people were talking about their hot start, which I didn't understand. They lost three of four at home to Baltimore...swept Seattle but then proceeded to lose two of three to Oakland and are getting destroyed so far by Boston. Detroit isn't really doing a whole lot better though.
Reply
Yeah, Detroit isn't a very deep team. Aside from 2/3 of their lineup and 2/5 of their rotation, they aren't great. It's a very winnable division.
Reply
That rotation is killing them.
Reply
Bet they'd love Garza right now.
