jeff kent is a product of roids. he played for san fran at a time when almost everybody on the giants and a's were on roids. i just wanted to throw that out there.

as much as i don't believe kent should be in the hall of fame.....i can't keep him out. if sandbergs in, then so is kent. i don't like it, but it is what it is. if he was an outfielder, he wouldn't be in, but he wasn't. if sandberg played the outfield then he wouldn't be in either.

roberto alomar is up for election next year and in my mind, he's a lock. biggio gets in too.

Robbie Alomar's absolutely in. He's the only 2nd baseman I've seen in Sandberg's neighborhood defensively in my lifetime. Career .300 hitter, great playoff hitter, almost 500 steals, almost 3000 hits, etc.

Tommy,Dont just tear my heart out and walk away.

'What if' he was a CF his whole career? I'd like to think he'd make it in,eventually.
A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo. When the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.

In much the same way the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

This shouldn't even be thought of. Sandberg is the most beloved Cub in most of our lifetimes. He was great in every way (except for maybe his early retirement, but we won't think of that). He also may have given the greatest HOF speech of all time.
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

Kent's a lock for the HOF. Other then him being a prick and not knowing how to wash his car without hurting himself I'm not sure what the debate is.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->The reason I am here, they tell me, is that I played the game a certain way, that I played the game the way it was supposed to be played. I don't know about that, but I do know this: I had too much respect for the game to play it any other way, and if there was there was a single reason I am here today, it is because of one word, respect. I love to play baseball. I'm a baseball player. I've always been a baseball player. I'm still a baseball player. That's who I am.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Enough said.
