Quote:Tie would make much more sense. I'm surprised no one thought to suggest a hockey-esque HR derby shootout. Like each team picks 5 hitters, they get up to 3 pitches to hit an HR and whoever has the most at the end wins the game. Sudden death if still tied. That would be the McMahon move, just make a ridiculous spectacle of the whole thing. I'm mean if they reduced hockey ties to a skills competition, why not ruin baseball too.
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

The 60-man player pool rules seem overly strict, unless I'm missing something. Players can't be removed for any reason other than IL placement, suspension or trade.

Sun Times’ Greenberg provides a nice background piece regarding re-start of baseball training. Liked his mixture of fear and beauty in article without gung ho ‘Play ball!’ sentiment.
Like most baseball fans, I’m hopefully for MLB season but also concerned with restarting baseball activities while virus has returned across significant portions of country and US has hit new case highs. Yes, deaths remain low but no clue if combo of rationales - younger / healthier people getting virus, better care of patients, or time lag until deaths increase - makes restarting baseball inconsequential as covid is under control and season won’t likely be completed as imagined. https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports-satu...virus-2020

I don't see how they survive the loss of Kozma.

Christ, not gonna post the link but Sergio Mitre has apparently been arrested in Mexico for raping and murdering his 2 year old step daughter.

Guessing Blue Jays will play in Buffalo. Assuming they can get the lights up to MLB standard. Guessing there are probably some deals to be made for either temporary or permanent stadium lights in the current economic environment.

Sounds like the Dodgers and Mookie Betts are close to a 10+ year extension that will eclipse Trout's deal. Meanwhile, the Ricketts family is still searching for some loose change to lock up the Cubs core beyond 2021.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.
