Somehow Hurdle gets off with the weakest punishment.

Morrow didn't work out, but sort of dodged a bullet by not re-signing Davis.

You never know. Coors has ruined many a pitcher.

True, but I think Joe broke him during the 2017 playoffs. He was damaged goods when he hit free agency.

Going into today, the Detroit Tigers have played only 108 games. That's 4 fewer than the Cubs, 7 fewer than some teams like the Dodgers and Red Sox. Only the White Sox (110 games) come close. Their schedule is murder over these last two months, with a couple double headers (including one today) against--you guessed it--the White Sox. They also have to make up the last 2+ innings of a game that was suspended in Detroit in May against the A's before another nightcap. In this case, the suspended game has to be played in Oakland with Detroit as the home team. There's a total of 4 off days scheduled for the Tigers the rest of the way.
It's a good thing they're not a contending team I guess.

The Yankees have hit more home runs in Baltimore this season than the Tigers and Giants have hit in their respective home parks.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.

Is Chris Davis really a player anymore, though?

I mean, hey, getting him to take a swing at Hyde might solve some issues caused by that hideous contract.

Hes going to be lights out with them.

You should hope he is. If somehow he can get a contract offer of $1.5M+ or so for 2020, the Cubs shouldn't owe him anything next year.
Spoiler: Won't happen.
