MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
Not losing picks benefits the Cubs greatly.

If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

That's awesome.

Fuck you Selig. I hope they go back to playing the ASG to a tie, as well.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that the Cubs were better off not having HFA during the World Series in 2016.  I suspect that would be a different story should they play in the 2017 WS.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

I was going to say the same thing.

So what does the new new international limits do to the Cubs pursuit of Otani in 2017?

I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

Schwarber batting 438 (7 for 16) as a DH in the World Series was probably advantageous for the Cubs.

Also sounds like the DL time has been reduced from 15 days to 10.

I'm curious how big of an impact that will have... and what new ways they'll attempt to work this.
I got nothin'.

That seems like an odd change. I assume there is no change to the 7-Day concussion DL rules or maybe that was eliminated along with this change?

AP confirms no change to the 7-day concussion DL.

What the fuck? MLB quality players from outside the U.S. aren't welcome in the league till they're 25?
