Not even close. Wait until Glasnow and Taillon hit their stride.

Plus Bell looks like the real deal.

Pitching is so volatile though, they may never hit their stride. They have both already been on the DL this season with shoulder issues and didn't one of them already have TJS?

At the very least it seems like they've already given up on this season. Maybe they don't want to lose in the WC game again ?

Yankees holding a press conference tomorrow with A-Rod, Cashman, and Girardi in attendance. I wonder if A-Rod is going to announce his retirement? Doesn't seem like something he would do since he is still owed 21 million next year.

A-Rod giving up what's left on his contract and retiring on Friday. That will be his last game.

Someone should present him with a nice gift basket.

Yankees may return to the big spending next off season with all that cash off the books

Next season's free agent class is pretty much horseshit. But 2018, that's where we'll see the Yankees rise again.

While there may be deferred compensation for years he played, no one is stupid enough to sign a contract paying a player for years he chooses not to play, right?

Yep, Cashman said he'll be paid his full 2017 salary, and it will count towards their payroll.

Ah, so he negotiated for a year's pay. He was holding a roster spot hostage.

That's the way it seems to me too.

I'll premise this by saying Fuck A-Rod.

That said, he would be an idiot to forego that money for next year under normal circumstances.  Considering the Yankees tried to get out of his contract on multiple occasions (and should have), there was no way he was going to cut them any kind of break.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]
