The Brewers trade/sign a couple of guys and their fans think they're quite important. This is going to get old real fast.

They usually go away and hide once football training camp starts, so agreed, they don't bother me all that much during those couple of months each season when they pretend to like baseball.

Last summer I was up in Milwaukee visiting some old friends. I was there with my kids -- my 11-year-old son was rocking his Russell jersey, of course. We go to a hamburger joint for lunch (Kopps Custard, for those of you who know Milwaukee). At the time, the Brewers were 3 or 4 games up on the Cubs still. So some random guy -- probably in his 50s -- comes up to my son and says, "Looks like 2017 might be the Brewers year!" My son doesn't miss a beat and just says, "Yeah. Not gonna happen."

Anyone see Clapp's interaction on twitter with one of them talking shit who incorrectly stated how many wins they had last season? Real BrewCrew fan right there.
I dunno. I know a lot of Wisko people and they all talk shit during baseball season.

Brewers fans are to us here in WI what Sox fans must be like to you guys in Chicago. Such a goddamn inferiority complex.

Maybe that's not the right term but they are really fucking annoying.
01-29-2018, 12:33 PM
Ha, I was going to say it's probably a very similar situation.

I could see it being annoying if you lived up north, for sure.

The best/worst part is how everyone up here suddenly becomes a Brewers fan only on the rare occasion that they become somewhat relevant again. That year they traded for Sabathia and made the playoffs for the first time in forever everyone came out of the closet as a fan.

NL Central is going to be rougher this year. Brewers outperformed expectations last year and have a better outfield this year. The Cards added Ozuna. Reds are even looking improved. Pirates seem the only team that appears demonstratively weaker. Unless you include the Cubs in that discussion as losses of Davis, Arrieta, and hell even Jay make the current roster weaker than team heading into 2017 spring training.

How are the Reds improved Ivy? Also, the Brewers out performed and won 86 games. If they regress to what they like should have won, high 70s, they'll get to low to mid 80s. I think people are overreacting quite a bit. The addition of Yelich and Cain doesn't get them to mid 90s.
Brock, I can see that. A few Wisko girls on my fb were super fans the first half of the season...didn't see much from them after the second half though.

Milwaukee's got Usinger hot dogs...I miss those.
Wisconsin, to me, wasn't nearly as horrible as Indiana or Missouri (when I lived in Chi)---even Michigan. But I guess is almost the same as those places these days.

They truly are going for it. They just signed Fatt Albers.
