I agree with Bernie 100% here. I can't believe how short-sighted this move would be.</blockquote>

Agree with Bernie’s sentiment and opinion that the significant minor league contraction would hurt MLB in long term but question his belief that effect will devastate local economies. These teams maybe the only professional baseball in communities but doubtful that they are such driving forces for many local economies.

I could see it being a pretty big issue in a small community. I don't know which parks they're talking about shutting down but imagine a small town of, say, 8,000 people. The ballpark probably employs 100+ folks, and is a pretty big source of tax revenue for the community; probably the biggest source of tax revenue for the community. Not to mention the pride that comes with having a ballpark like that in your town -- it makes it a destination. I'm making several assumptions here, but I could absolutely see it being a big deal in a number of places.

I'm not sure I buy this proposal from MLB/MiLB to save baseball when these affiliates are severed. The "Dream League" sounds like a fantasy.

Not thrilled with the Urias trade.  I'm sure he'll end up being awesome.

He's sucked so far, but hopefully he won't end up experiencing another Yellich bump. Lauer isn't a bad piece either.

He'll probably benefit from the signs coming from the bullpen while batting.

Glad he’s moved on from Brewers

Glad he’s moved on from the Brewers. Unfortunately, he remains in NL Central

Kind of sad that the small market teams in the Central division are likely to outspend us for a 2nd consecutive offseason. But, hey, at least we can enjoy the special talents of Addison Russell for another season.

I'm looking forward to us signing all the DFA'ed & non-tendered reclaimation projects again

It would be nice if a little bit of Chuck Schwab's 26 billion trickled down.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Kinda surprised he didn't hold out for a 2-year deal, but good for him.

What is our rotation going to look like next season?

Darvish

Hendricks

Lester

Quintana

Chatwood?

Mills?

Underwood?

Some FA we don't know about yet?

I can't say that looks like a playoff rotation to me. Darvish was great down the stretch and Hendricks has been very reliable. But Lester is aging rapidly, Quintana is barely mediocre, and then who knows...

Unless the FO swings a trade for a young-ish arm, I don't see much in the FA market aside from possibly a 1-year deal from someone like Teheran or Porcello fitting into the tight budget. There's no more money.
