Yogi Berra - better ballplayer/manager or personality?
Didn't care much for Yogi when I was younger as thought of him as the Lite beer guy associated with the Yankee dynasty rather than the Hall of Fame catcher.

350+ career HR and 10 WS championships. Funny personality, but no one would care if he weren't a HOF player.
Also, Dusty is under consideration for the Marlins manager job....

After looking at stats, I would guess most people would say Bench was better than Berra. The fact still remains that Berra was a hell of a ballplayer.

Especially given that he was a man of small stature.

Thought Yogi was 5'8" which was most likely well above average height in the late 40's - mid 1960's through his MLB playing career.

He's listed at 5'7" according to Baseball Reference, which was generous from what I've read. Also, no way average height for athletes was below 5'10" even back in the olden days.

Bow-legged too.
Caught the only perfect game in World Series history.
Just learned only now that he has the most WS rings ever-10. Amazing, considering everyone else below him. Might take a long tome to break that, if ever,

So basically where that leaves things is the Cubs must win this series to have a real shot at the #1 WC.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.

I think they will have to sweep for real shot at the #1 WC. 2 out of 3 only gains 1 game.

As much as I'd love to take the #1 WC spot, something tells me there is value in avoiding the media circus in Chicago and playing the game on the road. I just want this team to finish strong.
