What makes that Gomez trade so weird is that he hadn't even had the physical yet.  So the hip concerns were nothing new.  Did Alderson just not know he had had hip issues?  It makes Alderson look like a moron.

I'd love to see Gomez in CF for the Cubs. Only down side is that he's a FA after next season.

Cards get Moss for Kaminsky.  Callis thinks they got raped.

Kaminsky's only in High A, so he has a ways to go, but on paper, that looks horrible for the Cardinals.

Moss isn't very good.  Which means he'll be an All Star.  Looks like he still has some pop though.

I'm sure Kaminsky will get hurt and suck now that he is no longer a Cardinal, and Moss will go on to be the WS MVP.

Probably, depending on what the medical issue is.. I'm not optimistic that Edwards or Almora will have huge success in MLB.

Ditto. Almora hasn't even been good in the minors for a while now.

Didn't Almora just turned 21 at the start of this season.  It's tough to be ready to write the kid off.  He's been on the radar for a few years so it seems like he's older.

 

Keep reading that he's a team leader but he does need to be able to produce with his bat.  Might not happen for him but still looking forward to seeim him at Wrigley as a productive regular with gold glove capability.

Agreed.  People give up way too quickly on some of these prospects.

I'm not giving up on him, but it's hard to project that he will improve much given his track record over the past 2 seasons. The fact that we are thin on near MLB-ready CFs probably means that he will be given every opportunity to develop and hopefully improve.

I would not be surprised at all if Ian Happ passes Almora as our CF of the future.
