I get trying to figure out ways to improve the game -- being adaptable is a good thing. But I feel like every rule change and adjustment they've made has not only been the wrong decision, but also accomplishes the exact opposite of what was intended.

Why bother with a 162 game season if 14 teams are just going to walk into the playoffs? Are we going to keep playing games into November or even worse, start the season in mid-March? This reduces the importance of the regular season.

Me too. Even going back to 154 games seems too high. I kind of wish we had something closer to the NPB, where they play 146 games with every Monday off.

Agree that season could easily be shortened to 154 games but why would ownership give up the revenue from the extra games?
