MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
Quote:Eno Sarris ranks all the MLB ballparks by their craft beer offerings. No surprise that Wrigley ranks pretty poorly at #23. Probably deserves to be even further down the list to be honest.

Based on criteria, ranking seems correct but ranking includes a taste opinion which is arbitrary. Apparently, Eno enjoys 3 Floyds Zombie Dust which was added last season so Wrigley gets a boost. Wrigley has a number of craft offerings but most are concentrated in one serving area which author points out. Could just as easily see Wrigley ranked along with Yankee and Dodger Stadiums near bottom of list.

Also, why rank each stadium just on craft beer?

Because Eno is a beer snob (not in an annoying way), and it's pretty much all that he talks about on Twitter. Baseball is his 2nd greatest passion.

Manfred needs to go.

Yep.

Clearly Manfred screwed up but are owners unhappy with his work.

Would be surprised if Manfred is removed as owners - the guys signing his checks - haven’t seemed to vocal regarding their opinions on Manfred’s handling situation.

Believe Severino signed a 4 yr, $40 MM deal last year and has pitched about 20 innings last season due to injuries.

I wouldnt be upset if the Yankees stumbled a little (or a lot)...

Thought this was pretty interesting. The first in a series of articles at Fangraphs on the business of baseball, specifically the history of national TV deals before and after the '94 strike, and what the implications might be for the upcoming CBA renegotiations.

Now Stanton?  Yankees having a rough early ST so far.  Stanton seems like he's been endlessly injured since going there.

That Stanton contract is looking like one of the worst in baseball, but ain't nothing worse than Miggy Cabrera.  Over the last 3 years, Cabrera has posted a total bWAR of -0.1, during which time the Tigers have paid him $88 million.  They still owe him $132 million guaranteed over the next 4 years, including an $8 million buyout for 2024 (which would be his age 41 season).

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

He never seemed like a player that would end up aging well.

Still upset we didn't sign Pujols into his age 50 season.
