MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
First Carpenter suffering from extreme fatigue, and now Holliday feeling flu-like symptoms. I thought the juice was supposed to prevent all of this. At least the Cards lost.

Quote:Matt Holliday of the St. Louis Cardinals was taken out of Saturday night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers when he was feeling ill after running the bases in the fourth inning. Holliday started a day after the Cardinals sent their No. 3 hitter home suffering from flu-like symptoms. Holliday walked to lead off the third, extending his franchise-record streak of reaching safely for the 44th straight game to start the season.

Anyone else see this?  Pretty fucked up.  This is about five minutes from my house...didn't realized he lived by me.

If he were a Cub, there is no doubt in my mind the local media would be villifying him and calling for him to be jettisoned immediately. How this has gone under the radar for this long is embarrassing, but I'm not at all shocked. Reinsdorf protects his friends, big or small.

Danks was partying with friends back in 2010.  The group got very drunk and at least one of them was doing blow.  One of his buddies decided to climb up above the deck and fell roughly 10 feet.  They checked on him quick, but decided he was ok.  They then continued partying.  The next morning Danks left for his game before someone eventually called 911.  The guy had fractured his spine and never walked again.  They chose not to call an ambulance because they weren't sure if he had insurance.
I got nothin'.

They left the guy laying there for hours.  And I do agree Rok, it's very strange that no one is talking about this really.

If you're at my house and you hurt yourself...I'm getting you medical attention, even if I have piles of coke all over the place...and even if I'm going to end up paying for your injuries out of my millions and having to deal with the bad press.

I'm just saying.

Wasn't Danks' place.  It was the brother of the guy that got hurt who owned the condo.  They decided it would be funny to go up above the deck.  Then started wrestling over a cellphone and fell.

** Edit ** I guess it helps to read, with any semblance of accuracy.  It was Danks' condo.  My bad.

I got nothin'.

Thx, but that didn't work for me. Maybe because of cookies. Not sure.

Joey Gallo being called up.  Seems quick.

They say it's only until Beltre gets healthy, then he's going to AAA.

But obviously plans can change.

It'll be interesting to see how he handles big league pitching.  He's a K machine.
