Haven't read the article yet, but I wonder if returning to scheduled doubleheaders could be some sort of compromise.

Believe that expanding the number of games in a season and playoffs is probably just as likely as contracting the number of games.

 

As article mentions, the idea of expanding playoffs so each series is best of 7 is interesting and most likely lucrative so can see owners moving that forward rather than contracting games.

I thought the same thing yesterday when they were getting smashed in the first inning.

 

I wonder when the radio and media loudmouths will start ripping on the Sox and their fans for thinking they had a good team this year.  That's right, that's not one of their narratives.
