MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
I blame the hot dog race.

They crawl?

Maybe the fear of rioters storming the gates provided incentive for players to move the game along quickly. Sissies.

Sounds like MLB is changing the rules for trading drafted players.  Instead of having to wait for a year after a player is drafted, players will be eligible to be traded upon the completion of the World Series in the season in which they are drafted.  However, drafted players can't be PTBNLs for trades completed before that point.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Balfour agrees to go to AAA with Tampa Bay.  Could still end up opting out down the road.

Oh, that's amazing. If we had a spot for him, I'd love to bring Ramirez back and let him retire a Cub. But I don't think our front office is into sentimental shit like that (thankfully)...

Also, I think 3B is occupied.

Listening to a frustrated, lifeless Hawk has been a joy. That said, something tells me that they will turn their season around at some point. Plus, their FO genuinely seems to want to re-sign Shark, so it would take quite a freefall for them to become sellers. Hopefully we can smack them around during the crosstown series and really contribute to their demise.

I honestly don't see them being much better than .500.
