Bumgardner will be only 30 this year. I guess I never realized how young he was when he entered the league.

Plus he always just seemed like an old curmudgeon even in his early 20's.

Anyway, wonder how quickly the KB market develops if the Nats land Donaldson.

Bumgarner has a lot of mileage on that 30-year-old arm. My guess is that contract looks bad quickly.

Am I the only one who thinks that 1) there will be no serious trade talks for Bryant 2) nor should we hope there are?

^No, you're not.  I find it odd that the BN guys seem to not only think it's inevitable but seem to be really rooting for certain scenarios that would benefit the value?  I don't know...its bizarre.

If I believed the Ricketts family would make a serious attempt to extend him, then I wouldn't be warming up to the idea of a trade. As things stand, KB will just walk in 2 years and the window will close.

I don't think youre going to get fair value for him though.

So just get a draft pick for him in 2 years?

Hopefully after getting a couple of MVP like performances years from Kris.

Pick up a lead off man, CF, a starter, and bullpen help and head to spring training.

There's no more money.

Maybe the club could move to a major city? Or start up its own network? Or renovate an aging stadium and charge more for tickets?

Or sell their family business for $26 billion....

Replace his production.

Regardless, my guess is he's still on this team come spring training

I'd honestly be shocked if he isn't.
