MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
You want smarter Sox fans?

What's the downside of that?

You assume that real Sox fans actually exist?

Of course they do.  They are at all the games paying attention in the stands while not getting drunk.  Ever.

Less comedy.

I guess I have distance myself from most Sox fans up here, I don't have to deal with their antics and views towards Hawk. Everyone here (and throughout most of the baseball world) understands that Hawk is a fucking joking. It's something we all can get together and laugh about.

For the reason I want Hawk to stick around, was the same reason I wanted Ozzie Guillen to remain as the Sox manager. Since the Cubs were basically useless the past 7 or so seasons, nothing entertained me more than listening to Hawk when the Sox didn't catch a break,....as well listening to Guillen's press conference following a Sox loss. Ozzie flat out didn't give a shit, he said exactly what was on his mind. Between him and Hawk, it was great entertainment for me having them make asses of themselves in front of a microphone.

I guess I'm a fan of anything that makes me laugh and makes the Sox organization look bad at the same time.

I just want to drink beer and play atari

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

I watched some of the highlights of the Sox/Royals game from last night, hoping to catch some vintage Sad Hawk. Sadly, the MLB app uses the announcers of the big plays for their own team. So when Cain hit the winning homer, I got the Royals announcers. Too bad...

If you have MLB.TV, you can hear the Sox feed. I'll take a listen and tell you how glorious it was ?

Surprisingly, he wasn't bad. He actually said something.

I tuned in around the inning where Duffy threw behind LaRoche, and he and Stoney were in rare hard-ass-old-timey-baseball-bullshit form after that point. Only bad part was when Flowers hit a 3-run go ahead HR, which seemed to embolden them to talk more shit. Then the wheels started to come off after that inning, and the tough talk stopped, which was also really fun. I love baseball.
