MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
Good review of the AL East with focus on the Nationals need to win over next couple of seasons considering the expected losses of Harper, a couple soon-to-be aging starters, and a number of back loaded contracts.   The Nats have had the talent to compete for a few seasons but still haven't won a playoff series. Lucky for the Cubs and all other MLB teams, Dusty is at their helm.

Imma go out on a limb and say that there's no chance that the Nationals win the AL East this year nor in the foreseeable future.

And I would agree with you even if the Nats were playing in the AL.

You never know there could be a massive re-alignment of the divisions resulting in the Nats move to the AL.

I've got a new favorite non-Cub prospect to get all syrupy about.

Can't wait to see how he stacks up.

My hunch is he'll make an excellent batter.

They'll end up flipping him for prospects.

I wonder how many Friday nights Joey's girlfriend told her mom, "Mom, I'm just going out to eat some Pankake(s)"?

So this is kinda cool, whether you care about the WBC or not. Team Israel has a mascot, Mosche, otherwise known as the Mensch on the Bench.

Looks like an official report was released from Florida stating Jose Fernandez was going 65 MPH - while intoxicated - on his boat before hitting the rocks, killing himself and his two passengers. The families of the passengers are now suing his estate.

Oh boy....

So is it weird that my reaction to seeing that Scott Feldman would be the Reds' opening day starter was to feel sympathy for them.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

I'm just grateful that they're in our division.
