MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
Quote:The White Sox had a really nice offseason and I think they'll be competitive, for sure. But Bonifacio won't really be a factor. This would be like if we were all jerking off to the signing of that OFer who I can't remember the name of now.

Ryan Lavarnway has been let go by four teams since late November

The latest to let him go: the Orioles, to make room for Delmon Young.

He is the 2015 George Kottaras.

Cards fans voted most insufferable in baseball, to no one's surprise. But how do the White Sox end up #10 behind us at #6? I suppose no one knows they exist.

We're insufferable for standing behind an unsuccessful team.

Interesting development.
Quote:The Rangers are on the verge of acquiring right-hander Yovani Gallardo from the Brewers, sources tell FOX Sports Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi. Earlier today, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation tweeted the Rangers could be adding a starting pitcher. Morosi tweets Jurickson Profar is not part of the package heading to Milwaukee.

Also sounds like Scherzer could end up with the Nats.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Also said Shields is seeking 5 years and 125 million. A team would be nuts to give him that.

I would think that would just about make it certain that Zimmerman would enter FA next year.

Yeah I saw Rosenthal reporting they'll be looking to sign one of the big arms.  I don't see that happening.

Jon Morosi just tweeted that if the Nats sign Scherzer and don't get an acceptable offer on Zimmermann, they would listen on Strasburg.

Wonder if the Brewers would then turn around and sign Shields. They seem to like aging starters.
