They are, but international FA signings are capped at $6 million per season for players under age 25.

Do you know if international FA can sign a multi-year deal so he can have $30-35 MM at age 25-30? e.g. $6 MM for year 1 of contract for player at age 24, $30 MM for year 2-5 so a $126 MM contract.

Honestly not sure how it would work. I'm sure some creative FO's out there are already investigating various loopholes in the language where amortized signing bonuses, backloaded salaries and option years might skirt around the stated salary limits, but I haven't seen anything written about this yet.

Wasn't Japan and Korea excluded because they were coming from another professional league? That's no longer the case?

Will be bummed if Cardinals end up with either Fowler or Sale. Little has appeared regarding Sale and Cards as Cards starting pitching appears set even with trade of Garcia but still see them as a dark horse in the Sale trade market. Cards minor league system have prospects to get a deal done and they can include one of their existing MLB starters in deal making it more affordable from a budget standpoint.

Gangnam Police Station in southern Seoul confirmed that it was Kang's third DUI arrest, with the three strikes law resulting in the immediate revocation of his license. According to police, Kang had also been arrested for a DUI in August 2009 and May 2011. No personal injuries were reported in either case, though he'd caused property damage in the latter incident.


The report also notes that a companion of Kang initially claimed that he, and not Kang, was behind the wheel at the time of the accident which led to Kang's arrest last week. It was later revealed by the car's black box, however, that Kang was driving. So add in some obstruction of justice, whether it is charged or not, to the scene. Police are investigating that.
