MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
The good part - which seemed impossible a year ago - is that it legitimately appears the Cubs may have managed to get a better haul from Texas for Garza than they gave up to Tampa Bay to get him.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Hendry's plan all along.

I think you're right. Still needs some panning out to happen, but Olt and Grimm made the team, Ramirez was fantastic this spring, and CJ Edwards is a top 50 prospect.

I sure hope they all pan out. Archer is the only pitcher I was upset about parting with. Cashner, I believe, will always be an injury risk. The others, I don't really care about.

What's Hak-Ju Lee up to these days, anyways? I think he was hurt last year but I don't remember seeing him on the top prospect lists this year like he once was.

Well, after a google search I found the following on Rotoworld:

Quote:

Hak-Ju Lee has been diagnosed with a left calf strain and will be sidelined for the next 3-4 weeks.
Lee suffered the calf strain on Saturday in Rays camp. It's completely unrelated to the knee injury that cost him the majority of the 2013 season and he should be getting regular playing time in Triple-A by the end of April. Lee, a highly-rated shortstop prospect, is likely to make his major league debut at some point in 2014.

I'm rather skeptical of that prediction.

Tony Campana is still in the majors.

I'd heard that Billy Hamilton was fast, a game-changer, blah blah blah. But this is freaking unreal. And it came against Yad Molina:

There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

Avacail Garcia is out for the season with a torn labrum.

If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

Cashner had a pretty ok outing last night...

Cashner is Cy Young at Petco.

Not so much on the road.

When you miss that many bats though, does park factor really matter?

I was flipping back and forth between that game and the Cubs last night and he was dominating, which is no easy task against the Tigers. The one hit he allowed just barely made it out of the infield.

I really like Rizzo, but... I just hope we don't regret this one.
