It used to be that if rain caused a game to be called in the 6th inning or later but before the end of an inning in which the visiting team tied the game or took the lead, you took those runs off the board and went back to the end of the last completed inning.
Several years ago, MLB changed the rule so that if the visiting team tied or took the lead in an inning (6th or later) that was not completed, the game would be suspended. This year, MLB tweaked the rule so that if that happens only in the final meeting between two teams where the game was being played, those runs are taken off the board and you go back to the end of the last completed inning. If it's not the last game between those teams at that park, the game is still suspended. Obviously, they're trying to avoid making teams go back to a city to play a few innings. Last night, the Cardinals led the Royals 2-1 going to the 9th inning in St. Louis. It was the Royals' last game in St. Louis this season. The Royals scored 3 in the 9th before it started pouring. The game was delayed at 10:32 pm. Joe West was apparently not up for letting the Cardinals win even though they were losing, because the game resumed at 3:04 am (!). Royals win 4-2. HA! (Downside is that Joe West is still a bottom 5 umpire in baseball and his tired-ass crew is working the Cubs-Diamondbacks series and drove from St. Louis after the game).

Tony Randazzo throws out Mike Aviles of the Indians after the game was over (video 1 is the bad call, video 2 is the postgame ejection). If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy
