He probably still has more fire than the dead beat we have.

When McKeon got his first managing job, Leo Durocher (first job as a MLB manager in 1939) was still managing, Tommy Lasorda (out of managing since 1996) was 3 years away from getting his first job, and Whitey Herzog (out of managing since 1990) was in his first year as a manager.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.

Better than Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon:
Current Marlins manager Jack McKeon managed at the same time as Leo Durocher, who managed at the same time as Connie Mack, who managed at the same time as Cap Anson, who first managed the Philadelphia Athletics in 1875, before there was a National League.

Jim Riggleman resigned as Nats manager because he was unhappy about his contract situation.
I wish he were managing us.

I have no context for this but man, that's weak sauce. He signed a contract that has him managing this year. What a cunt.

I don't disagree that it's super lame, especially when the team just finished a sweep today and is over .500, but I have a feeling Rizzo was being a much bigger douche about it all than we're aware of.

I'll stipulate to Rizzo being a COMPLETE douche and it makes no difference.

I don't know what was said between Rizzo and Riggleman, but just based off what we do know, I have got to say that Riggleman just pulled one of the most selfish things I have ever seen. The team is playing great ball and he jumps ship on them because he may not have a job next year? Selfish!
BTW, what does he think this kind of selfishness is going to do for his managerial chances in the future? His agent has either got to be just as dumb as Riggleman or is going nuts over his clients decision.
Honestly, unless Rizzo said, "Jim, we aren't bringing you back, go fuck yourself and manage out this year for us" or something to that extent, there is no reason other than selfishness for Jim to do that.
As Straw said, CUNT!
